Professor Liao Wei from the Department of Food and Biotechnology at Guangxi Vocational and Technical College said that the use of paper cups that do not meet the national standard may have the potential to enter the printing ink. Heavy metals in the ink enter the human body and are difficult to metabolize.
Liao Wei also said that when the paper cup containing 50 °C liquid printing ink harmful substances easier to precipitate into the drink or contact with the lips; and storage of paper cups also increased the possibility of oxidation of the printing ink off.
